Telephony

This afternoon I was treated to a tip by my friend Charlie about Mobile17, a site that lets you create your own ringtones for free from your music. You upload a song and tell the site when you want your tone to start and how long you want it to be. All you have to pay for is the normal texting or data fees you might have for your cell phone, though if you decide not to pay a small amount, you have to wait a while for the tone to get loaded and sent. But, I've got plenty of time. (Why else would I be writing at 4 in the morning? Oh, wait, insomnia. Hey there.) So, after an aborted attempt to upload a snippet of 'Spectacle Wins' by Only Fools and Horses, which wound up being too large a file, I decided to use a segment of 'The Heavens' by Weird Tapes. It's spacey, cool electro full of samples. You can get their EP's for free in zip files, as well as those from similar Hail Social family member Memory Cassette right heeerrree.

And in this second song, I love the sample from Ice Cube's 'It Was A Good Day.' So sweet.

Bonus: Ice Cube's a pimp
