Straight Out of Chi-Town: Hey Champ

Well, so much for doing work. I managed to read through a dissertation tonight while watching the Red Sox lose in painful fashion to the Devil Rays (not going to just call them 'the Rays;' shame on them for bowing to pressure from uptight religious groups/not completely changing the name). So, the Devil Rays are now champs, which segues nicely into the band I've been listening to nonstop for the past two days, Chicago's own Hey Champ. They make extreeemely catchy synth pop and just got signed to Lupe Fiasco's 1st and 15th label, so hopefully they'll put out a full-length album soon. When they're not rocking out, the band also mixes as Hey Champ DJs and have a nice remix of Yeasayer as well as an original track.

They've also come out with a music video for 'Cold Dust Girl' which is full of slow motion nightclub action. Is it every all-male band's dream to have two girls making out in a music video just because they have the power of "artistic direction" and a budget on their side to make it happen? This is a sociology/psychology study in the making.
