Coming out of hibernation after their 2008 debut 'Are You Ready for the Heartache Cause Here it Comes,' Murder Mystery have finally released a new single. A down-tempo pop tune, 'The World' reminds me instrumentally of The Beach Boys, with simple, catchy riffs and a guitar-dominated bridge that maintains the song's understated tone. The plaintive, quiet vocals fit perfectly. I feel like this song is meant to be on a movie soundtrack, playing as someone is riding in a car or train, resting his head against the window and looking out at the world as it flies by, contemplating some recent event or memory. Murder mystery has also put up another new track, 'Lost' on their MySpace, so check it out, and you can see them in New York on Leap Year's eve for a benefit show for local kids, complete with PBR for everyone's favorite price: free! Support a good cause, hear some great music, and get your buzz on with the only American-owned macrobrew left. And hopefully by that point, Murder Mystery will have some more new material to grace our ears with.
