Sleep Deprivation

Wooo! My first all-nighter of this semester last night. Not one that necessarily needed to happen, but I have class at 9:30 on Mondays and was still working at 4:30, so I decided to just keep pushing through with work. Managed to get a fellowship app written, do some job hunting, and read a few articles, so a pretty solid and productive early morning. Not a sustainable lifestyle, but that's okay. I actually managed to have a fairly calm weekend (compared to previous ones since January), so I don't feel too terrible.

Time for another inbox cleaning, full of hot tunes.

Young Texan rockers The Steps have just come out with a new video for their song 'Dagger' off their self-titled debut. The more I listen to these guys, the more they impress me. They're going to be playing at SXSW next month, so expect them to get a lot bigger after that.

Amsterdam madman Don Diablo continues to churn out originals and remixes at an astonishing rate. Now he's taken on one of my favorite American electro bands, Walter Meego, and tech-ed out their single 'Girls' off their album 'Voyager.' Much more of a clubby feel to it now.

And finally, the great British indie band Duels have gone the route of many other groups these days and have decided to give away their album 'The Barbarians Move In' as a free digital download on their official site. There's also a great remix by fellow Leeds resident and one-man band Napoleon III, who's dropping a mini-album today. Totally rocking and transforms the sound of Duels into his own. Hopefully he'll start getting more appreciation on this side of the pond.
