Life Is Sunny

It's a beautiful day here in New Haven, hopefully the true beginning of spring, and not just April Fool's Day coming a day early. Life has been relaxing and hectic at the same time, as I've tended to neglect actual work for the sake of getting out and enjoying myself. Got to be irresponsible while I still can. I found out around the middle of last week that I got funding to go back to Lisbon this summer for archival research, and I am beyond excited. It will be awesome to get back to my friends there, my old haunts, the beaches, and of course the excellent music scene. Should be a blast once again.

The first artist I saw in Lisbon last summer was Michael Mayer playing at the city's best club, Lux. Appropriately for the weather, here's a track by Supermayer, his collaboration with Superpitcher, off their album 'Save The World.'

Chicago band Helicopters are releasing a new single off their album 'Sizing Up The Distance,' which should be out soon. Check out their track for a slice of indie electro-rock goodness.

Finally, for something a little heavier, let's turn to Montreal-based electro and grime act NROTB. Check out the EP for their song 'Take Me Upp' on Beatport and also check their channel on Jango.com. Fans of Boys Noize and MSTRKRFT should dig it.

Keep on rockin' in the free world!
