Just got in a new track from San Francisco octet Photons from their much-anticipated upcoming sophomore EP. The band has in the past drawn comparisons to Arcade Fire and The Decemberists, but their new single, 'Where Were You Last Night,' is much more reminiscent to me of The Polyphonic Spree with its multi-layered instrumentals and vocal harmonies. The new 'Glory! EP' will be available exclusively from Insound starting on May 12, prior to its full national release on June 23. The band's 2008 self-titled debut CD has already sold out, so this will be your best chance to hear the fresh, lush sounds of this rising group. Prepare to be intrigued and enveloped.
